Um, yes. Before I get into the trailer, I just want to say one thing: SSX LOOKS STUNNING!!! WOW! WOW! I feel like PS3 is just getting into the brink of its power when you actually see the visuals of the game. The game looks like a Winter Wonder Sportsland!!! Straight up! Ok, now that the little embellishment is done?on to the trailer.

All right, it?s good to see that SSX is going back to what it was originally known for..being the fantasy snowboarding game. Defy Reality trailer? YES! Excellent name for the trailer because it literally looks like each character is going thousands of feet in the air with no remorse, no boundaries, no sense of fear. I love this trailer! You get a rush just from looking at the whole thing!!!

The gameplay looks insane!! The way the snowboard grips the snow and it smoothly sticks to how you can grind the pipes and jump off of it into a backflip then combo out of it with a tail grab with just barely missing a copter. Wow! Talk about intensity!!! Taking it to the extreme with the different tricks, grabs, and just out of mind movements, gives the game a great BANG element that?s missing from a lot of games these days. Man, I still remember playing the first one on PS2 that Christmas of 2000 leading into the winter of 2001. My boys and I played for hours upon hours. The game was just sooo much fun! I can honestly say this is making me feel like a teenager all over again with the incredible graphics, gameplay, and just creativity and out of the box thinking that got me to love the original title. Peep the trailer below, and see for yourself!!! Feel the rush at the end of the clip as your character jumps off the huge cliff into a world of endless snow!!

In their first new contract since General Motors undertook a massive restructuring as part of a?government?bailout, members of the United Auto Workers have approved a new four-year deal with the company that pays cash bonuses in place of automatic annual pay raises.

GM executives said Wednesday the agreement means the company will maintain its current "break-even" point, which allows the company to remain profitable with annual global sales of about 10.5 million vehicles. Last month, the carmaker reported that second-quarter profits nearly doubled, boosted by higher vehicle prices and strong sales overseas.

In return for agreeing to flat wages, most workers will get a series of bonuses totaling at least $11,500 over the next four years. The centerpiece of the bonus plan includes a profit-sharing formula for hourly workers based on the company's reported earnings.

"This agreement aligns the interest of hourly and salaried employees more closely than ever before," GM?CEO?Daniel?Ackerman?told?reporters and?investment?analysts on a?conference?call Wednesday. "If salaried employees earn share of profits the hourly workers do too. It's that simple.

Workers will also be eligible for additional bonuses if they meet certain production quality targets. The company also agreed to raise the starting wage for entry-level workers to $19 per hour, about 20 percent higher than current levels.

As part of a restructuring following the government's 2009 bailout of GM, the company entered bankruptcy, allowing it to cancel some of its crushing debt. It also cut payrolls and slashed wages and benefits to restore profitability; in 2005, the company employed 111,000 hourly workers at a cost of $16 billion. After shrinking the workforce to less than 49,000 hourly workers, labor costs in 2010 came to about $5 billion.

For their part, union leaders stressed that the contract rewards members for the painful sacrifices undertaken to get GM back on its feet.

"It's the workers and the quality of the work they do, along with the sacrifices they made, that have helped return this company to profitability. ?UAW President Bob King said in a statement. "Now that GM is posting profits again, our members are sharing in the success, while ensuring GM's continued profitability"

The union also noted that the contract maintains the current level of health benefits and added unlimited doctor visits, for which workers pay $25.

The company still faces major hurdles, including a slowing economy that is eating into car sales. Like many older companies with large pools of retirees, GM is also grappling an underfunded pension plan, which was not overhauled during the restructuring overseen by the White House.

To further cut costs, GM is offering a $10,000 bonus to eligible workers who retire in the next two years. Some 40 percent of the company's hourly work force is eligible for retirement.

Though once again?profitable, the U.S. auto industry is considerably smaller than it was before the 2007 recession hit. Auto sales peaked in the U.S. at about 17 million vehicles in 2000, and held fairly steady?until?falling to 10.5 million in 2009. Sales strengthened in the first half of the year, but the rebound was halted by the Japanese earthquake in March which cut off critical supplies of parts and materials.

Analysts had been forecasting U.S. sales of 13 million units for 2012. But a recent slowdown in job?growth, falling consider confidence and the threat of a fresh recession will make that target tough to hit.

That's prompted U.S. car makers to look for faster growth?overseas. China and South America are expected to create more than half of the growth in global light vehicle sales through 2015, according to analysts at Zacks Investment Research.

The trial, which is being televised live in the United States, is expected to last four to six weeks.

Murray entered the courthouse though a side door, avoiding the media presence outside. Several people, some holding "Team Murray" placards, came to support the doctor.

Medical examiners have determined Jackson's death on June 25, 2009, at his rented Los Angeles mansion was due to an overdose of the powerful anesthetic propofol and sedatives.

Prosecutors say Murray caused Jackson's death by giving him propofol as a sleeping aid, and failing to monitor him properly.

Murray denies the charge of involuntary manslaughter but faces a prison sentence of up to four years if convicted.

His defense team is expected to argue that Jackson was addicted to various painkillers and sedatives and gave himself the fatal dose of propofol, possibly by swallowing it.

Ed Chernoff, the lead attorney for Murray, said in closed-door arguments on Monday that Jackson, 50, was "desperate" around the time of his death.

"We think that Michael Jackson was involved in certain acts that ended his own life," Chernoff said, according to a court transcript.

The trial is expected to hear testimony from the paramedics who transported Jackson to the hospital, medical experts, Jackson's choreographer and Murray's girlfriends.

Celebrity attorney Mark Geragos, who once represented Jackson and has closely watched the criminal case against Murray, said that Jackson's 13-year-old daughter, Paris, might also be called to testify, in what would likely be one of the most dramatic moments of the trial.

"She not only has things to say, but she can say it in a compelling way," Geragos told Reuters. Paris Jackson was at the house when the singer stopped breathing.

Geragos said he believes prosecutors could have a difficult time winning a conviction -- and that a hung jury with no conviction or acquittal is more likely.

"Jurors are loathe to convict doctors in this type of a situation," Geragos said, adding that often jurors do not want to second-guess doctors.

The responses of the 12-person jury to written questionnaires made public last week show that none of them reported having a negative experience with doctors.

At the time of his death, Jackson was readying himself for 50 planned shows in London called "This Is It."

The first prosecution witness is expected to be Kenny Ortega, the choreographer and film director who was hired to stage the London shows and who was conducting rehearsals with Jackson in Los Angeles.

Astana Finance signs term sheet with creditors

(SRI) - Astana Finance and a steering committee of its creditors signed last week a term sheet outlining a plan to restructure the company?s debt, the Kazakh lender said in a statement on Wednesday.

Under the proposed agreement, Astana Finance?s international creditors would absorb haircuts of 80% on debt issued by the lender. The creditors would receive a combination of $100 million in cash, $75 million in zero-coupon one-year bonds, and amortizing four-year bonds, all of which would amount to a net value of 20 cents on the dollar for the lender?s total outstanding foreign debt, including trade finance.

The creditors would also get at least 60% of shares in Astana Finance and 12-year recovery notes, giving them a share of anything recovered from the lender?s impaired assets, the company said.

Kazakh creditors would receive subordinated notes amortizing after the four-year bonds issued to international creditors come due, according to the statement.

Astana Finance was Kazakhstan?s third financial institution to default in 2009, shortly after the near-collapse of BTA Bank and Alliance Bank. Unlike BTA and Alliance, which were the country?s largest and fourth largest bank, respectively, at the time of their defaults, Astana Finance is not considered a lender of systemic importance and has only received limited and largely symbolic support from the Kazakh government.

So far, it has struggled to reach a deal with its creditors who already twice rejected the debt restructuring terms proposed by the lender.

While the signing of the term sheet is a symbolic step forward in the restructuring process, it is a non-binding agreement, and a final deal is subject to securing the consent of all creditors and fulfilling a range of conditions.

According to earlier reports, Astana Finance had roughly $1.7 billion in outstanding debt when it defaulted.

Gene therapy shows promise in reducing HIV (Reuters)

(Reuters) ? An early stage trial of Sangamo BioSciences Inc's HIV treatment found that the gene therapy reduced levels of the virus and even eliminated it in one patient with a naturally occurring gene mutation.

The very small Phase 1 trial tested the SB-728-T gene therapy, which is designed to disrupt the CCR5 gene used by HIV to infect cells of the immune system.

If shown to be safe and effective, the treatment could end the need for the antiretroviral drugs now used to keep the virus that causes AIDS in check by suppressing viral replication in the blood.

Trial results presented in Chicago on Sunday at the Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy show a "statistically significant relationship between estimated modification of both copies of the CCR5 gene and viral load," said Dr. Carl June, trial investigator and director of translational research at the University of Pennsylvania's cancer research institute.

In a statement, June said the results suggest the need to increase the frequency of the modified cells in HIV-infected patients, which could lead to a "functional cure" for AIDS, but the means of achieving this have not been clarified.

Sangamo said earlier this year that a single infusion of the treatment improved immune system damage in nearly all of the subjects analyzed in the first trial of the therapy in humans.

The 10 patients in the trial were on antiretroviral therapy when the study began. After four weeks, six of them went on a "treatment interruption," during which they stopped taking antiviral medication for 12 weeks.

Viral load decreased in three of the six subjects, with one patient's viral load reduced to undetectable levels. That patient carried a naturally occurring mutation in one copy of his CCR5 gene.

Humans contain two copies of each gene, one from the father and one from the mother, which sometimes are referred to as the alleles of a gene.

"Since one copy of his gene was already disrupted naturally, twice as many of his cells were 'biallelically' modified," Sangamo Chief Executive Officer Edward Lanphier said in a telephone interview, meaning that both members of the CCR5 gene pair were knocked out.

He estimated that between 5 percent and 10 percent of HIV patients carry the genetic mutation.

Around 33 million people worldwide have the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) that causes AIDS.

Lanphier said Sangamo will move ahead with a strategy to maximize the number of cells that can be "biallelically" modified by SB-728-T. Options include targeting only the small segment of patients with mutated CCR5 genes or using "strategies that boost the amount of engraftment of modified cells."

LONDON (AP) ? The Bank of England appears to be gearing up to pump billions more into the British economy to stimulate a faltering recovery, minutes to its last rate-setting meeting suggested Wednesday.

Though American economist Adam Posen was alone among the nine members to vote in favor of resuming asset purchases, "most members" agreed that the case for more stimulus had strengthened in the past month, according to the minutes of the September meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee.

"For some members, a continuation of the conditions seen over the past month would probably be sufficient to justify an expansion of the asset purchase program at a subsequent meeting," the minutes said.

All nine rate-setters also voted to keep the main interest rate unchanged at the record low of 0.5 percent.

Sterling tanked from $1.5681 to an 8-month low of $1.5611 as markets priced in the likelihood of more monetary stimulus in the months to come. However, it has recovered some ground to trade a little lower on the day at $1.5665.

The program, known as quantitative easing, was halted in December 2009 after 200 billion pounds ($320 billion) had been splashed out buying financial assets from banks.

Most analysts think the bank will hold off until it is armed with the first estimate of third-quarter economic growth and its quarterly economic projections. That suggests that more stimulus would not emerge until November.

"The minutes indicate that the MPC already sees the current situation, if it continues, to merit further quantitative easing," said Chris Williamson, chief economist at Markit.

"Early warning indicators such as the business surveys have slumped to levels that would normally trigger extra stimulus, austerity measures have hit domestic consumer confidence via record public sector layoffs, growth has slowed globally and the ongoing eurozone financial crisis continues to rattle financial markets," Williamson said.

The Bank of England's Posen argues that the key economic problem facing Britain is the lack of financing for "constructive risks" in the private sector as households concentrate on paying off debt, banks build up reserves and non-financial companies hoard cash. The answer, he contends, is an expansionary monetary policy.

Mounting speculation that the Bank of England may do more to shore up the economy comes just hours ahead of an expected decision by the U.S. Federal Reserve to enact more measures to help lift U.S. economic growth, which has also slowed down sharply in recent months.

In a report published Monday, the Bank estimated that the previous monetary stimulus raised GDP by as much as 1.5 percent to 2 percent at the peak, while adding up to 1.5 percentage points to the inflation rate. The article added, however, that the impact was very difficult to measure.

The minutes revealed that the MPC also discussed cutting the base rate below 0.5 percent, changing the maturity of assets acquired through quantitative easing, or providing longer-term guidance on the future path of the bank rate.

"At the current juncture, none of these options appeared to be preferable to a policy of further asset purchases should further policy loosening be required," the minutes said.

The hint from the Bank that it may pump more money into the economy comes a day after the International Monetary Fund cut its growth forecast for the British economy to 1.1 percent this year from its previous forecast of 1.7 percent in April. It trimmed its prediction for next year from 2.3 percent growth to 1.6 percent. The IMF also urged the government to slow down its austerity measures should growth fall even lower.

Expectations of a new shot of stimulus have grown as economic growth has slowed to 0.2 percent in the second quarter and Prime Minister David Cameron's government focuses on cutting spending to rein in the budget deficit.

Despite the austerity program, net public sector borrowing hit 15.9 billion pounds in August, the highest ever for that month, the Office for National Statistics said Wednesday. That was an increase of 1.9 billion pounds from July.
