Horses are amazingly beautiful and sensitive creatures. Horses require not only understanding and patience to have a horse as a pet, but also requires care.
Herd mentality:
Observe the horse herd in the system, the welfare of each horse in nature depends on an instinctive submission to the discipline of the crew. Instinct is an immediate action. For the survival action of the horse. When horses live in a herd, they often take turns sleeping and keeping potential predators. When the leader of the herd of danger signals, they flee.
Learning respect and rise to the authority begins on the first day in the life of the foal, there is a clear hierarchy in the herd of horses.
Profile is important to keep quiet and horses. Horses naturally do not like unnecessary noise because in the nature of their survival depends on the detection of predators with their audience. Background noise interferes with the detection of predators. This detection of predators is closely linked with the reflexes of a flying horse. Because of these genetic survival, horses have a physiological wiring in the brain that predisposes to prefer peace and to become bothered by unnecessary noise. Many horses can get easily frightened by sudden noises and this can result in injury to the horse, rider, or people around the horse. Talk to your horse in a calm and reassuring voice.
For horses:
A horse will love you, if first and foremost, you treat him fairly, and secondly, if you allow yourself to develop a relationship with her in the same way as for a human partner. There are too many who will look after the material needs of the horse, but do not put anything back into the partnership itself. The horse was born in captivity will identify with another provider and his companion, resulting in a healthy relationship from the beginning. A healthy relationship with your horse requires trust, coupled with respect, love with respect and the desire to please.
Check your horse:
Examine your horse every day and especially before you mount the horse. Carefully examine the horse?s legs and back for any unusual heat or lumps. Make sure the horse?s eyes are alert and not glazed. Listen for any excessive noise or sounds coming from the stomach gurgling of your horse. To detect problems before they become serious is crucial to keep a horse show and alive.
Exercise caution and discretion when around stallions and mares when they are in heat. They have to do with hormones on an order of magnitude that you probably can not understand. Stallions usually bite and some can be easily triggered into violent behavior.
Horse Grooming:
Keep your horse clean. Keep all of the free layer of dirt, mud, sand and sweat from his horse. Brush your horse every day. Choose your horse?s feet every day. Wash the residue of sweat pad saddle or girth every day. Wash dirt or sand residue of the race horses in your legs every day. A number of different problems can occur if a horse?s hair is not clean.
Childcare:
Keep your horse?s stall clean. Make sure the horse?s stall is cleaned every day. Make sure that all moisture is removed and the manure. Replace the removed bedding fresh and clean, dry bedding. The water should be dumped from buckets every day without exception. Dirty and unhealthy bacteria can build up in a bucket, if not cleaned daily. Clean water is important to maintain a healthy horse. Make sure the horse is always fresh, clean water available.
Horse training:
The intelligence of the horse in training is growing rapidly. Coach can make a smart intelligent horse. This close, but the instructor will lead a disciplined but pleasing horse.
Feeding horses
Feed your horse (s) at the same time each day. A horse can upset and colic or injure themselves by kicking the stall or pawing, if not enhanced when the power is expected. You should not make radical changes in the feeding program of a horse. If you need to make a change in the feeding program, make the change gradually. Drastic changes in the feeding program of a horse can cause the horse to colic and in some cases may die. The horse?s stomach is very sensitive to the bio-reactor that maintains a delicate balance between organisms that digest food in the digestive tract of the horse.
Visitors should not feed a horse, you do not own without the permission of the owner, no carrots, no apples, no treats, nothing. The horse could become sick if they have an allergy or a disease.
Be aware of what is happening in your horse, this means that all food, hay, all water, all treats, all supplements, all pills, and every time. This knowledge can save the life of your horse in an emergency. Send this information to the cabin door of your horse to make it accessible to a vet if you are not around in an emergency. Make sure your horse receives a high quality feed and hay. The horse?s health and health depends on the diet you provide for them. Take care of your horse. A rider without a horse is not racing at all.
Vet Care:
Make sure you have a good equine veterinarian. A good vet will save money over time and can save the life of his horse one day. An ounce of prevention is better than cure. Make sure your horse has all the vaccinations that are normal for your geographical location. All horses should be in a good deworming program to control intestinal parasites. A horse should be dewormed by a veterinarian at least twice a year.
Horse Flies:
In summer, spray your horse trailer with fly spray about 10 minutes before loading the horses. Flies have to go out, and horses may not have the annoying flies!
Horse Cooling
Do not spray a hot, sweaty horse with cold water immediately after working a horse. This can cause muscle spasms and binding, or shock, which can be fatal. Wait for the horse to breathe regularly, and use hot water if available. If the horse has heat shock, contact your veterinarian and the vet may advise you to cold hose the horse, while still hot and sweaty. Never put a horse barn, or in a confined space, or when you sweat while they are still breathing heavily. This can lead to electric shock and / or colic, which can be fatal. Walk the horse until the horse is cooled down and breathing is normal.
Shoeing:
Hooves of horses usually grows about 1 cm per month, and lasts for almost a year to grow Coronet band to the ground. Horse?s hooves must be trimmed on a regular basis (about every 6-8 weeks). Shoeing a horse does not hurt them. If you have to grow out your nails, you can put the earring / pin through without causing discomfort, but if you drove through the loss of finger nails, which is attached to the soft tissue, it hurts. When horse shoes are nailed, nailed in a corner so that the horse does not know.
Make sure you have a good farrier, especially if you show your horse in the jump. The shock of landing jumps deepening problems in the blacksmith. If a horse is sore feet or legs from bad angles or bad shoeing the horse can not take off his shoes, lie on a couch, and rub their feet or find another pair of shoes that you can. Improper fitting can lead your horse is lame due to a number of problems including: bowed tendons, jumped the rails, or shoulder / back pain or spasms. Bad shoeing can ruin a good horse, so do not be penny wise and pound-foolish when shoeing is concerned. An ideal horse is much more expensive to maintain a good farrier. And remember not all horses must have shoes, only if they are competing, walking on hard surfaces / rock, or have hoof problems.
Views:
Horses do lay down, but only if they feel very comfortable in their environment. It is not enough to provide stability to dry food and water. Horses often sleep standing up by locking their knees. Horses are one of the few animals that can put half of their body to sleep while the other half is awake. Emotionally and mentally, all horses need to feel they have and be comfortable in their own space!
Enjoy the finer features of the horse must treat them as high-quality care with kindness and good health. In the end, a happy horse means a more comfortable and a happier rider.

Answers to your questions about the news.By Brahna SiegelbergPosted Friday, July 29, 2011, at 12:03 PM ETWatermelons, as anyone who's ever eaten one has likely noticed, contain both small white seeds and larger black ones. Seeing as it's watermelon season, the Explainer thought she'd answer the terribly pressing question: What's the difference between the seeds?
Maturity. All watermelon seeds start off small and white before growing into larger black, red, tan, or dotted seeds. (More on these less-familiar colors later.) The average American watermelon has about 200 to 800 seeds, and roughly 5 percent of those are still immature upon harvest. These seeds are infertile, so unlike their black cousins, you can't use them to plant your own crop of watermelons.
Undeveloped seeds should not be confused with seeds from white-seeded watermelons, which are very common in China and the Middle East (not so much here). American farmers tend to produce watermelons of the black-seeded variety for aesthetic reasons, but watermelons have a vast array of gene combinations that can produce a variety of seed, rind, and flesh colors.
Along with squash, cucumber, cantaloupe, and pumpkin, watermelons are members of the cucurbit family, which produce fruits called "pepo"?modified berries with thick rinds and a fleshy center. While all cucurbits start out with white seeds, watermelons are the only ones with seeds that can then change into various colors.
Despite the childhood myth that swallowing watermelon seeds will cause you to grow a watermelon inside your stomach, all watermelon seeds?mature and immature?are perfectly edible. Some speculate that if you swallow a whole seed it could get stuck in your intestines, but chewing it up a bit will solve that problem. Watermelon seeds are filled with vital nutrients that can give you a large dose of your day's recommended protein intake.
Bonus Explainer: Why do "seedless watermelons" have seeds? They only look like they do. Seedless watermelons are sterile hybrids, but they sometimes contain little hard seed coats. If you look inside of these, you'll find that they're completely empty.

Our top moments of the week:
12. If the Shoe Fits... Award: Lady Gaga may have wept for Marko's contemporary routine during her guest-judging stint on So You Think You Can Dance, but in the end, she only has eyes for Melanie, who she loudly proclaims as her favorite ? oh, and at whom she tosses her monster-sized platform shoe because that's apparently what dancers do, or at least what Gaga does. "I would hire you tomorrow to dance on my tour all around the world," Gaga says. If she does, bring a helmet, Melanie.
11. Worst Omen: Everyone knows the No. 1 rule of relationships is to never commemorate then with a tattoo. You'd think Kat Von D would know that. But no. The needle-artist extraordinaire inks a fifth-grade photo of then-fianc Jesse James on her left side and surprises him with it on L.A. Ink. "You're crazy," a less-than-enthused James says. "I thought you were going to tell me that you were breaking up with me," she forebodingly jokes. Of course, they did split this week and Von D clearly does not want to talk about it. Can't say she didn't bring this on herself.
10. Worst Dirty Talk: On Switched at Birth, Daphne finds out that Regina knew for years that Daphne wasn't her biological child and drowns her sorrows with a classic combination of vices: booze and sex. A tipsy Daphne jumps into the backseat of Wilke's car and starts unbuttoning her blouse, but he makes the fatal error of bringing up the switch mid-kiss. Needless to say, it kills the mood. Poor dumb Wilke.
9. Most Idiotic Savant: In one of the more blatant cross-promotion attempts, Big Brother pimps new network-mate Same Name with a luxury competition in which the houseguests must figure out that Same Name's first celeb is David Hasselhoff based off a series of clues. The first set: three bars of soap and opera binoculars (meaning "soap opera" ? Hasselhoff was on The Young and the Restless). While everyone's straining to think of soap stars, Jordan ? she who can't tell time and thinks Joan of Arc is Noah's Ark ? deduces that "bay" from the soaps and "watch" from the "opera sunglasses" means Baywatch. "Who's the guy who plays Mitch Buchannon on Baywatch?" she asks Jeff. "David Hasselhoff," he says. Frankly, the only thing more stupefying than how she figured out the answer is the fact that she knows him as Mitch Buchannon and not The Hoff.
8. Best Conundrum: We kind of knew that Henry Wilcox was Covert Affairs' leak, what with his testy relationship with the CIA, but we didn't expect him to blackmail his own son, Jai ? with cigars, natch ? to keep that intel on the DL, lest they both go down if word gets out. So will Jai comply with Dad and allow the leaks to continue, or will he rat him out and perhaps taint the legendary Wilcox name?
7. Best Breaking Point, Part I: Entourage super-agent Ari Gold has always been an emotional guy, but by "emotional" we mean "crazy and offensive." But when Vince's house burns down just hours after Ari learns his estranged wife is dating someone else, it's all too much for him to take: Ari actually cries. Of course, he claims that he has smoke in his eyes, but we know better. Don't worry, Ari, we won't tell Hollywood that you have a heart.
6. Best Hissy Fit: On Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim Kardashian, newlydiagnosed with psoriasis, worries about an upcoming commercial shoot. "It's not like a photo shoot where it can just be PhotoShopped," Kim screams at her mother, from whom she inherited the skin disease. "This is video. You cannot fix it." Um, have you ever heard of makeup? Or lighting? Or video-editing? "You can wear whatever you want to wear. I had this. I get it," Kris says. "No, you don't!" Kim cries, before kicking Kris out of her house. Exactly, Kim, nobody knows what this is like. Not your mom or the 125 million other people worldwide who have psoriasis. Of course, all ends well when she conceals the flaky patches with makeup, ensuring her momager her 10 percent.
5. Most Obvious Audition: On The Bachelorette, Ryan, who was cut loose a few episodes back, returns for one last shot at Ashley's heart ? even telling her to take a few days to think about it. There was never any chance she'd give the happy-go-lucky energy conservationist a do-over, but does it really matter when his ulterior motive is as clear as the Fijian water: to be the next Bachelor. He "called up" Chris Harrison and flew to Fiji himself? Puh-leeze.But at least he didn't play her like Bentley did, right?
4. It's About Time Award: After 28 years and two kids together, Gene Simmons decides it's finally time to make an honest woman out of Shannon Tweed and proposes to her during a trip to Belize on Gene Simmons Family Jewels. "I come with so much baggage, but you're the only friend I've got," Simmons tells a crying Tweed. "You're the only one I've ever loved ... I used to watch movies where they say, 'I can't live without you,' but for me it's true. Shannon, please marry me." And she says... well, we don't know since a "To Be Continued" flashes onscreen. Well played, A&E, well played. Unfortunately, you can't script real life, and this not-exactly-romantic moment last month suggests that maybe we shouldn't save the date just yet.
3. Best Diva Moment: An eight-hour segment on QVC in which Mariah Carey shills her fragrance, shoes and peasant wear collections has the potential for so many top moments, and boy, does it deliver: She regularly forgets the models' names, directs the cameras and is as prone to personal tangents ("My mother and I love the pool, like, we're obsessed with water and all things water, so...") as she is to sales-pitch. But she ends up going above and beyond, ticking off "moments" (see if you can figure out what she means when she uses that word) that seem to exist only in her head: a "dual moment," a "full-on evening moment," a "push moment," a "genius moment," a "transitional summer moment," a "fragrant moment," and a "retro moment of gypsy whatever," among them (watch our montage of Mariah's many "moments"). Taken collectively, pop culture had one helluva Mariah Carey moment this week. Welcome back from maternity leave, kooky old friend!
2. Best Breaking Point, Part II: Like a glutton for punishment, Bravo's Andy Cohen, the man behind The Real Housewives franchise, insists on hosting the reunion specials. He's been yelled at, shoved (by New Jersey's Teresa Giudice) and, let's face it, bored to death. But it's The Real Housewives of New York City who finally push Cohen over the edge when they refuse to stop talking. "You guys are all f---ing talking. Shut the f--- up. Seriously, shut the f--- up," he says, after asking Sonja about some silly Hamptons party. Now he knows how we've felt since Season 2!
1. Best Kiss of Death: Up until now, True Blood's central romance has been between Sookie and Bill. While the show has flirted with other options for Miss Stackhouse, it was only now, four seasons in, that she finally acted on her feelings for ancient vampire Eric Northmanand sealed in with a swooning romantic score and a very passionate kiss. All those Team Eric fans have waited patiently; it seems the season of the witch is also your time. Enjoy it while it lasts!

CHICAGO ? Illinois authorities on Wednesday began examining the remains of a 7-year-old girl who was abducted and killed more than 50 years ago, trying to find clues that would help them put together a criminal case against a 71-year-old former neighbor.
The body of Maria Ridulph was exhumed early Wednesday, weeks after authorities announced they'd arrested Jack Daniel McCullough in Seattle and charged him with murder in the death of the girl, who was abducted by a man as she played outside her home in Sycamore in December 1957. Maria's body was found the following spring in a wooded area about 120 miles from her home.
DeKalb County State's Attorney Clay Campbell said he hopes scientists now can "do a better examination of her remains here in 2011 than were conducted in 1958.
"Suffice it to say science has advanced, thankfully, greatly since that time," Campbell said at a news conference.
McCullough, a onetime Sycamore resident, waived his right to extradition earlier this month. He was being returned to Illinois on Wednesday to face a murder charge, authorities said. He has denied any involvement in the girl's death.
When the girl's body was found, the cause of death was listed as foul play because medical officials at the time lacked any other explanation, Campbell said.
"There's a certain supposition that when a 7-year-old disappears and is found out in the woods that she was murdered," but how that happened is unclear, Campbell said.
"I think the job done back then was outstanding considering the state of medical science at the time," he said. "Now, we can look through the lens of modern science and see that it was inadequate."
The body was taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital for X-rays before being returned to the DeKalb County coroner's office, where it will be examined by a team of experts, including from the FBI and the Illinois State Police, Campbell said.
"We are investigating the murder of a 7-year-old child," Campbell told The (DeKalb) Daily Chronicle. "Suffice it to say, we'll leave no stone unturned."
Authorities have not said what they hope to find, but one cold case expert said a body that has been in a casket for more than 50 years can still reveal evidence crucial to prosecutors.
Some of that information has nothing to do with a suspect, but could nevertheless derail any prosecution if authorities leave any doubt about some very basic questions.
"You have to be able to show it's a criminal homicide and you have to establish the identity of the victim," said Richard Walton, an assistant professor of criminal justice at Utah State University and the author of "Cold Case Homicides: Practical Investigative Techniques."
Walton said even after all this time, there could still be evidence linking a suspect to a crime.
"They might consider fingernail scrapings today to determine if there is any DNA," he said, explaining that while some DNA degrades over the years, some can still be used.
The key, he said, is the condition of the body, as everything from whether the body was embalmed to whether water seeped into the casket or bugs got inside will determine if there is any useful information.
"You're not going to know what you have until you open it up," he said.
Campbell said the experts involved in the exhumation are "very, very satisfied" with what was found, but he would not comment on the condition of the remains out of respect for the Ridulph family.
Maria's oldest sibling said she cried after hearing her sister's body had been exhumed, even though she knew it was going to happen.
"It's brought it back again and crammed it into our faces," said Patricia Quinn, 70, of Morris. "I had put it to rest a long time ago."
Maria's December 1957 abduction made national headlines, and President Dwight Eisenhower and FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover reportedly requested daily updates on the massive search for her. The girl's body was found a few months later.
With no arrests, no new leads and the death of Maria's parents and investigators involved in the case, the story faded from memory as years passed. McCullough, who told detectives in 1957 that at the time of the girl's abduction he'd taken a train to Chicago, became the focus of the investigation again last year when a high school girlfriend of McCullough's discovered an unused train ticket to Chicago behind a framed photograph.
McCullough, then known as John Tessier, lived near the girl in Sycamore, 50 miles west of Chicago, and matched the description of the suspect given immediately after the disappearance by Ridulph's then-8-year-old friend, Cathy Sigman, who last saw her at about 6 p.m. on Dec. 3, 1957. Sigman said she left Maria with a young man and ran home to get some mittens; when she returned 15 minutes later, the two were gone.
In a July 7 jailhouse interview with The Associated Press, McCullough said he didn't kill the girl and maintained the same alibi he gave when first questioned by investigators when he was 18: that he could not have committed the murder because he had traveled to Chicago that day for military medical exams before enlisting in the Air Force.

SANAA, Yemen ? Tens of thousands of protesters turned out in cities across Yemen Friday to call for the ouster of President Ali Abdullah Saleh in a remarkable show of determination after six months of demonstrations and armed clashes that have failed to topple the embattled leader.
In the lawless south of the country, security forces clashed with fighters near one of several towns under the control of al-Qaida-linked militants who have taken advantage of Yemen's political turmoil to expand their influence. Six soldiers and five militants were killed, a security official said.
Protesters in the capital, Sanaa, chanted, "We won't talk, we won't negotiate, victory is near!" while an army unit that has sided with the protesters provided protection and prevented a group of Saleh supporters from praying near the protest camp.
Across town, a smaller group of Saleh supporters rallied in support of the president.
Six months of mass protests have posed an unprecedented challenge to Saleh's 33-year rule, though the movement to topple him has reached a stalemate with the regime.
Saleh still rules, despite spending nearly two months outside the country for treatment of wounds he suffered in a bomb attack on his palace mosque. He has been able to hold on largely thanks to his loyal allies in the security forces. His son Ahmed commands the elite Republican Guard.
Saleh's aides insist he will return after completing his treatment in neighboring Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, security across the country has broken down, with armed tribesmen battling security forces in a number of places and al-Qaida-linked militants taking control of entire towns in the country's restive south.
Friday's fighting in the south took place near one of those towns, Zinjibar. The Yemeni army has been fighting to push them out. The security official who gave details of the fighting spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief reporters.
A visiting U.N. envoy, Jamal bin Omar, urged Yemeni politicians to find a consensus to get out of the stalemate, warning of deteriorating humanitarian, economic and security conditions in Yemen, including shortages of fuel.
"It is time for all politicians to bear their responsibilities and reach a quick solution that ... answers the aspirations of the people, including the youth, as soon as possible to avoid a real crisis," he said.
Friday's protests were the last before the month of Ramadan, when Muslims fast from dawn to dusk. It remains unclear what affect the month will have on the protesters' ability to mobilize large numbers.
A preacher who addressed marchers in the town of Ibb after Friday prayers suggested the holy month could bring a breakthrough.
"We expect that during Ramadan, our brothers in the Republican Guard and Central Security will join the revolutionaries to finish toppling the rest of the regime," said Abdel-Salam al-Khadeiri.
Large protests were also held in Taiz, Hodeida, al-Mukalla and other places.

LONDON ? BP PLC on Tuesday reported lower than expected earnings for the second quarter as it struggled to lift production in the wake of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Although the actual costs of the spill diminished, the fallout from the disaster continued to weigh on output, down 11 percent from pre-spill levels. The company said the damage to its reputation could have a long-lasting impact on its prospects.
BP reported a net profit of $5.6 billion for the three months ending June 30, compared with a loss of $17.2 billion a year earlier.
Replacement cost profit, a closely watched industry benchmark, was $5.3 billion compared with a loss of $17 billion a year earlier. The second quarter result was lower than the average analyst forecast of about $6 billion.
Last year's earnings were hit by a $32 billion charge for responding to the Gulf of Mexico crisis.
The lower-than-expected profit hit BP's shares. They were trading 2.5 percent lower at 463.45 pence ($7.58) as trading opened on the London Stock Exchange.
"In our opinion the key factor for investor sentiment is the long-term actions to restore the lost shareholder value," said Tony Shepard, analyst at Charles Stanley & Co. He said investors are waiting for an update on the company's strategy following the collapse of its Arctic exploration deal with Russia's Rosneft.
Richard Griffith, analyst at Evolution Securities, said BP's recovery was on track and affirmed a "buy" rating on the shares.
BP said it has so far paid $6.8 billion for economic and environmental restoration in the Gulf of Mexico, including $5.1 billion from a $20 billion trust fund to settle individual claims. It estimates the total cost of the spill, including the trust fund, at $40.7 billion.
In the second quarter, payments from the trust fund totaled $2.1 billion, including $873 million to individual and business claimants.
The company said the majority of the cleanup on the U.S. Gulf coast was completed in the first three months of the year, while "limited" work continued on marshes and barrier islands. No further work is planned on the seabed, BP said.
The company acknowledged that "the Gulf of Mexico oil spill has damaged BP's reputation, which may have a long-term impact on the group's ability to access new opportunities, both in the U.S. and elsewhere."
In the short-term, the disaster has had a clear impact on BP's production levels.
During the second quarter, its oil and gas production was 3.43 million barrels of oil equivalent a day, down 11 percent from a year earlier. BP said that primarily reflected "the ongoing impacts to Gulf of Mexico production as a result of the suspension of drilling, and the continuing divestment program."
Full-year production is expected to remain close to that level, BP said.
Oil and natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico has slumped 43 percent to some 250,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
"It's probably going to go down even more before it goes up," Argus Research analyst Phil Weiss said. "Those wells decline, and it doesn't look like they're ready to start production somewhere else" anytime soon.
Chief Executive Bob Dudley was nevertheless upbeat about the company's prospects, saying he expects future cash flows to grow faster than output.
"We expect the momentum of our recovery to build into 2012 and 2013 as new projects come on stream, particularly in higher-margin areas; as we complete current turnaround activity; as we return to work in the Gulf of Mexico; and as uncertainties reduce," Dudley said.
He added that 2011 had been "an unusually good year" for gaining access to resources, with new tracts awarded in Australia, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, the United Kingdom, the South China Sea and Trinidad.
Dudley told investors in a conference call that the company has rebounded since a year ago, when "our own survival was in question."
BP continues to scour the globe for more petroleum sources, and it plans to get back to drilling in the Gulf of Mexico very soon, the CEO said.
Earlier this month, U.S. regulators granted BP its first permit for plugging and abandoning a well in its Atlantis field in the Gulf. The company expects to begin exploring again in the region very soon.
"It's not right for us to lay out a timeline because it is regulators who approve the permits," Dudley said. "But we have lots of people gearing up ready to go."
BP estimates the Gulf of Mexico spill will cost the company $40.7 billion, including the $20 billion trust fund to handle damage claims. That estimate does not include potential legal settlements and major government fines stemming from the spill. BP said it has started an arbitration process with Anadarko Petroleum Corp., which is a part-owner in the blown-out Macondo well. BP claims Anadarko should pay $5.5 billion for its share of the spill costs.

Credit Debt Relief Tips ? How The Recent Financial Crisis Can Help You Settle Bad Debt
The slump in the American economy has affected many people on the financial front. People were rendered jobless and were finding it difficult to repay the debt amounts in full. Thus the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) intervened to improve the situation. It laid various laws and regulations to promote other debt relief options apart from bankruptcy like ? debt consolidation, debt settlement, credit counseling, etc. The recent financial crises has helped a lot of people and can help many more in settling their bad debts by taking shelter of these debt relief options.
People, who are indebted by an amount higher than ten thousand dollars, can opt for debt settlement. Under this option, the debtor himself or by utilising the services of a debt settlement company can negotiate and convince the creditor to reduce the debt amount by some percentage and consider that amount as the full and final payment from him/her. It is a legitimate alternative to filing for bankruptcy. Earlier, the debt settlement companies were charging huge upfront fee which was further worsening the economic situation as fake companies vanished after making money. The government has now banned these companies from collecting an upfront fee. This means that the debtor will pay the fee to these companies only once the debt is reduced by the percentage as agreed. This move of the government has improved the debt settlement industry and helped debtors settle their debts more conveniently. Tax breaks have also been allowed to the creditors who agree to for debt settlement. Thus this mode is preferred by both the parties.
Credit counseling is a process wherein the professional agencies provide advice related to debt repayment, conservative budgeting, etc. after accessing the current financial situation. This helps the debtor repay the whole amount of debt and does not affect the credit score of the debtor negatively. Debt consolidation is a process of consolidating or bundling various debts under one single roof which is at better terms than the previous one. These options have made debt relief a convenient and approachable option for many people who thought that bankruptcy is the only solution to end their financial mess.
Debt settlement is a legitimate alternative to filing bankruptcy and often makes sense for consumers on the verge of bankruptcy. There are also other debt relief options available so it would be wise to speak with a debt relief specialist to go over your different options. WASHINGTON ? Rival Democratic and Republican plans to raise the government's borrowing ability have thrust Congress into a standoff just one week away from a potentially devastating debt crisis. President Barack Obama made a last ditch call for compromise, but House Speaker John Boehner said negotiations with the White House had been futile.
"We can't allow the American people to become collateral damage to Washington's political warfare," Obama declared Monday in a prime-time address to the nation.
Boehner, in a nationally televised rebuttal, said he had given "my all" to work out a deal with Obama.
"The president would not take yes for an answer," he said.
The extraordinary back-to-back appeals to the public gave no indication that weeks of brinkmanship and sputtering talks over long-term deficit reductions were on the verge of ending. With an Aug. 2 deadline rapidly closing, Congress and the White House had limited options to avoid a potential government default that could send the already weak economy into a damaging swoon.
Even as hints of progress seemed hard to find, Gene Sperling, chairman of the president's Council of Economic Advisers, said this was no time to be engaging in "doomsday scenarios."
At the same time, Sperling reiterated Obama's previous statements threatening to veto legislation with no more than a six-month extension to the debt limit, but he didn't directly renew the threat when asked about it in a broadcast interview Tuesday morning.
Both Democrats and Republicans softened previous hardline positions and appeared ready to leave quarrels over entitlement programs and higher tax revenues for later. But continued bickering on Capitol Hill overshadowed any signs of emerging common ground.
Obama reiterated his call for achieving lower deficits though spending cuts and new tax revenues. But in a notable retreat, he voiced support for a Senate Democratic plan that would reduce deficits by about $2.7 trillion over 10 years only with spending cuts, not with additional revenue.
The Senate plan, unveiled Monday by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and the proposal announced the same day by Boehner overlap in significant ways. Both identify about $1.2 trillion in spending cuts to the day-to-day operating budgets of government agencies, though Reid's proposal also counts an extra $1 trillion in savings from winding down wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Both proposals would create a bipartisan congressional commission to identify further deficit reductions, especially in major health care programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.
The primary difference between the two is timing. Reid's proposal would raise the debt ceiling enough so that it wouldn't have to be reconsidered until 2013, beyond the 2012 elections, as demanded by Obama. The GOP plan would only extend the debt ceiling for about six months.
For Republicans, the timing provides crucial leverage to force Democrats and the president to cut spending in Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, expensive benefit programs that Democrats have long protected, despite escalating costs.
Obama has said he would not sign a short-term extension of the debt ceiling, but on Monday he stopped short of issuing a veto threat. Still, he said, a six-month-long increase in the debt ceiling would allow Republicans to try to force their will once again, demanding "harsh cuts" in program like Medicare and refusing to allow tax increases on the wealthy.
"Based on what we've seen these past few weeks, we know what to expect six months from now," he said. "Once again, the economy will be held captive unless they get their way."
Credit rating agencies such as Moody's and Standard & Poor's have threatened to downgrade the United States' gold-plated AAA rating if Congress and the White House don't extend the debt ceiling and take steps to bring long-term deficits under control.
While both plans would increase the debt ceiling, ratings agencies have said a short-term increase such as the one proposed by House Republicans may not be enough to protect the U.S. from a ratings downgrade. What's more, neither plan offers the larger deficit-reducing assurances that credit ratings have said they need for the U.S. to retain its place as one of the most secure investments in the world.
Until last week, Boehner had been negotiating with Obama for a deficit reduction package of up to $4 trillion that included spending reductions in Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security and provided for up to $800 billion in new tax revenue over 10 years.
But Boehner broke off those discussions after Obama asked for an additional $400 billion in tax revenue and after the two sides could not narrow the gap on other provisions.
"The sad truth is that the president wanted a blank check six months ago, and he wants a blank check today. That is just not going to happen," the speaker said.
In offering his new plan, Boehner had the backing of his top Republican leadership team. But he risked losing some potentially critical Republican votes by scaling back a bigger plan that passed the House and would have cut as much as $6 trillion. That plan failed in the Senate.
Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, one of the leading advocates of legislation that cleared the House last week and died in the Senate, said he could not support Boehner's new plan.
Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, the No. 2 Democrat in the Senate, said in an interview that he believes first-term House Republicans have adamantly opposed new revenues in a debt-crisis solution because they're worried about primary challenges in their home districts.
But Durbin also said in answer to a question that if the Aug. 2 deadline is allowed to pass, the government will find itself with about $170 billion in money to pay bills, but more than $370 billion in payments immediately due.
Durbin and Sperling were interviewed on MSNBC.

A song can be the window to your heart and kind of music you like could very well map out your personality. But again there are many of us who do not stick to particular genre of music and have a taste that ranges across barriers of the land. Music indeed can be the perfect string that ties people of different country, religion and culture in a warm bond. Country Western music is one such genre that has evolved as a result of merging together of two regional styles that were born in America. The Southeast region had a unique style (country music) and so had the Southwest and West (western music). The two styles were merged together around the 1920?s and were further consolidated as a result of the musicians of both styles mixing with each other during service in World War II.
The music lovers across the globe can get best of both the worlds through the form of Country Western music which has adapted the best points from both country and western music. The main distinguishing factor between the two styles is that country music is much simpler and stresses on the use of few instruments like the guitar, fiddle, banjo and harmonica. The Southwest style depends more on steel guitars and big bands, distinguished by a strong rhythm section, usually including double bass and drums with the tempo varying from medium to fast. Country Western music has managed to absorb the attractive aspects of the styles and emerge as a genre that has touched the heartstrings of millions of music lovers across the world.
The origin of the country western music is from folk songs, ballads and traditional music of the Scottish, English and Irish settlers with modern lyrics that describe and depict the story of the rural and urban-poor whites. The rural African-American like the Jazz and Blues has also left an impression on this particular style of music. The country western music has also played a significant role in the development of rock music. Over the last five decades or so, the genre of country western music has gained a worldwide audience. Bluegrass is also a style of this kind of country western music that is distinguished by each instrument like the fiddle, banjo, acoustic guitar, mandolin and upright bass taking a turn and improvising on it while the other instruments revert to backing. Bluegrass is also distinctively acoustic and rarely relies on electric instruments.
Country western music also has traces and influence of Celtic music, Gospel music, Hokum and North American old-time music. Country music in itself has produced two of the top selling solo artistes of all times ? ?The King? Elvis Presley and Garth Brooks. Country western music has again undergone a revival phase with the influx of performers such as Tanya tucker, The Judds, Ricky Scaggs and Reba McEntire who have gained tremendous popularity. So music lovers across the world are in for treat with the revival of this popular genre that is country western music.

David woke up, refreshed from his afternoon siesta. He strolled across the roof of the palace overlooking the vibrant city. As he savoured the scenery, his eye caught a glimpse of a remarkably beautiful, woman. Temptation welled up inside of David at the picture her naked body portrayed. He lingered on the roof top to watch her bathe. Her exquisiteness captivated David.
Later on, David sent a palace guard to find out who she was. He discovered that she was Uriah?s wife, Bathsheba. That didn?t stop David from wanting her. Her stunning beauty and exquisite body had aroused him.
David invited Bathsheba to join him at the palace. She daintily obeyed. Who was she to reject the King?s invitation? Furthermore, her husband was away fighting. She was all alone at home!
Bathsheba was exceptionally appealing close up. She aroused? David?s carnal desires. There was a passionate attraction between them. They made love. Bathsheba went back to her home afterwards.
That one night of passion resulted in Bathsheba getting pregnant. David wasn?t ready for that news. He hatched a plan!
David sent for Uriah, got him drunk and ordered him to go home to Bathsheba. He was hoping that Uriah would sleep with her. David didn?t want to take responsibility for Bathsheba?s pregnancy. Uriah was a man of integrity. He refused to enjoy the comforts of his wife, while his allies were fighting. Instead of going home, he stayed at the palace and slept in the guard?s quarters.
David resorted to plan B. The next morning David gave Uriah his death sentence in a letter. Uriah was not even aware of the contents of the letter. Enclosed in the letter were orders for Uriah to be stationed at the front line, where the fighting was in full force. Tragically, Uriah was killed. David got his wish.
David married Bathsheba and added her to his list of wives. She gave birth to his son.
That story is from the Bible (2 Samuel 11: 1-27). It is one of the first recorded event of lies and deceit surrounding relationships.
Lies are like time bombs waiting to be found and explode.? A lie is a lie, whether it?s a little white one or not!
Maybe you?ve met a man and he?s younger than you. You?re scared that if you tell him your real age, he?ll have nothing to do with you. So you knock off five or maybe even ten years from your age. Or maybe you?re having an affair but you?re already in a relationship! You lie to keep your affair a secret. Or what about the fact that your new man was already married to somebody else back home in Africa or the West Indies? They conveniently lie and tell you that they?re single because they don?t want to mess up the relationship with you.
Relationships based on lies are eventually destroyed by lies.
Celebrities and Well Kept Lies
More Big Deceitful Lies
If you?re very clever and cover your tracks well, you may be able to live a lie in your relationship for a long time.
Gill was in a long-term relationship. However, she was bored. She started an affair with Jim. It lasted for a couple of years. Jim left her because she wouldn?t commit to him or leave her long-term partner.
Jim eventually met Barbara. They got married after six months.
Gill met up with Jim again. She wanted him back, even though he was now a married man. They rekindled their old relationship. The affair continued behind Barbara?s back.
A few months later Barbara got pregnant for Jim. Gill was also pregnant at the same time. Was it a happy coincidence that the two men were going to be new fathers? Nine months later, Barbara and Gill gave birth to baby girls.
Barbara had no idea that Jim cheated on her. Likewise Gill?s partner was unaware about her infidelity.
After the birth of their daughter, Jim and Barbara?s marriage was very rocky. During an intense argument between them one night, he confessed his infidelity. He also told Barbara that he had another daughter, with Gill. Their marriage ended. Barbara couldn?t live with a man she couldn?t trust.
Gill carried on living the lie with her partner. He still thought her daughter was his child. Only time will tell when that secret will be exposed!
