Sheriff: 4 die in fiery crash near Phoenix

PHOENIX (AP) ? An SUV slammed into the rear of a sedan and the car burst into flames, killing four people Saturday on Phoenix's western outskirts, authorities said.

The sedan's driver and three passengers were trapped by the crash on a county road near the town of Buckeye as their vehicle became engulfed in flames, said officer Chris Hegstrom, a spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff Office.

He said that the four were killed and the driver of the SUV was rushed to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The car was stopped on Maricopa County Road 85, possibly preparing to turn off the roadway, when the crash occurred about 3 p.m., he said.

"Car No. 1 stopped heading eastbound, (and) an eastbound SUV did not see the stopped car; collided with the back end of car No. 1," Hegstrom said.

Motorist Tom Wheeler told Fox 10 News that he was driving home from work when he saw the fire consume the small car.

"People were throwing water and dirt under the car to get the fire out and it didn't help," he said.

Hegstrom said authorities were investigating various elements of the accident, including if excess speed played any role.

News footage of the aftermath showed the passenger car with its rear end crushed and the SUV with damage to its front end.

Facebook rules to cut 'surprise' sharing by apps

Who doesn't read the occasional tabloid story with a headline like "Housewife Removes Wig for First Time?" But you don't always want your Facebook friends to know about your guilty pleasures. ? Facebook this week issued rules to app developers that require social apps like the Huffington Post Social Reader to wait before posting to Timeline, include an on-off button and make it easy to for users to remove activities once they've been posted. ? ?

The "frictionless" apps were launched last fall for effortless sharing when people listen to a song, read an article or watch a video. Sure, a user had to authorize the apps to share on their behalf, but the automatic sharing proved jarring to some, and in the case of video, possibly illegal. Facebook's new rules say that sharing apps must wait at least 10 seconds before posting. While that may seem awfully short ? you may not have even had the chance to read the first paragraph ? it's a step in the right direction. And for longer articles, an app won't be able to publish that you've read a multipage article until you're on the last page. ? ?

Video falls under the same 10-second rule, but developers have the option to not publish until a viewer has watched more than half a video, which makes good sense. How many times have you started a video and then turned it off within the first minute or so? [Video to Follow Photos as Facebook Sensation ] ? ??

Because of the federal Video Privacy Protection Act, you must give your permission to share what you've watched each time. Facebook has decided not to play around with legal consequences, even if it means video apps are not quite as automatic as they'd like them to be.?

Further, apps must include an on-off feature, so when you visit a page, you can turn social sharing off, and it will stay off until you change the setting.?

Developers have 90 days to get their apps up to code.?

Facebook has realized that people appreciate the convenience of automatic sharing some of the time, but not all of the time. [How to Quiet Facebook's Oversharing Apps ] ?Going forward, Facebook's "no surprises" policy means users will have to make an extra click or two, but will likely be able to save themselves from being judged for their occasional tabloid indulgence.

When it comes to marketing, you can hold each other accountable and as you build trust in other members in your group you might share resources.? An added bonus is when business is passed among members as well!

Remember, without clients, it?s hard to stay in business, so make your marketing a priority.? Even if it?s just an hour a week!? The first step is to develop your marketing strategy.? Then start small, create a routine and before you know it, business will be rolling in the door!

Braun aggravates Achilles, strains right hip

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Already dealing with lingering tightness in his right Achilles tendon, Milwaukee Brewers star Ryan Braun left Friday night's game after aggravating the injury and straining his right hip.

Braun was replaced in left field in the top of the eighth inning. He was walking with a limp after legging out a hit and stealing second base in the sixth, but didn't come out of the game against Pittsburgh right away. The Brewers lost 8-2.

"The danger in trying to play through an injury constantly is it's easy to re-irritate it," Braun said. "Your body also compensates so it's easy to hurt something else. I don't think it's too bad, but it doesn't feel too good right now."

Braun sat out Thursday night's game in Los Angeles with tightness in his Achilles and returned to the Brewers' lineup Friday.

"Pretty much any injury you have during the year doesn't go away when you play every day," Braun said. "The only way to get healthy is to take time off and it's not something I'm really interested in doing."

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said it wasn't clear if Braun would be able to play Saturday.

"We need to have him in the lineup," Roenicke said. "We need that bat there."
